"Greek pledges collide in eighth annual ‘Vikingfest’ "

Helmets, fur costumes and Sigma Pi fraternity pledges collided last week during the annual Vikingfest, held on Davis Field Feb. 28.

A crowd of around 400 students, both Greek and non-Greek, viewed the spectacle, which pitted the North versus the South in a chaotic battle between the 17 members of the Sigma Pi-pledge class.

After marching out and pumping up the crowd, the “horny” pledges, clad in typical Viking garb, charged at each other from opposite ends of the field.
